GCIS SPACE SECURITY UPDATE:

In the face of "Western Threats" Vis--vis resolutions by the U.N. Security Council regarding Iran's nuclear program, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad moved his country's manned space missions to begin in 2019, approximately a decade sooner than previously projected. Islamic Republic News Agency claims that this action was intended as a blow against his Western counterparts.

Aside from it's nuclear program under development, Iran has been launching it's own homemade satellites into orbit since 2009, with the Rasad 1 slated for late August and several more through March 2011.
